Here’s What a Driving Extra Earns on the Set of Glen Powell’s New Comedy

MOVIE NEWS – Judd Apatow’s new comedy is now deep into production. The film stars Glen Powell, whom audiences recently know from The Running Man and Anyone But You, while Apatow himself is the filmmaker behind Knocked Up and The 40-Year-Old Virgin.

The new project is titled The Comeback King, and it is being described as a country-western comedy. As for the story, all that is known for now is that its hero is a washed-up country musician or singer who, under certain circumstances, manages to stage a return.

The crew is currently shooting in Savannah, Georgia, and is actively recruiting extras who will drive their pick-ups and SUVs through the background of various scenes. One such driving extra earns 182 dollars for a 12-hour day, plus a 35-dollar vehicle allowance, which comes out to 56,200 plus 10,800 forints. That puts the pay roughly around the American median daily income. But money is not everything, especially if we also consider that appearing in a successful film can serve as a small ticket to immortality.

As for the film’s prospects, Apatow’s classic The 40-Year-Old Virgin still regularly ranks near the top of lists of the greatest comedies ever made.
