However, it seems that the company wants to get things back on track. Infinity Ward says that the 2026 game will be the defining Modern Warfare title that opens a new chapter in the series’ history.
In a video posted on the official Call of Duty YouTube channel, Infinity Ward’s co-presidents, Mark Grigsby and Jack O’Hara, confirmed rumors that the 2026 game will be another Modern Warfare installment. However, they hinted that it will be more than just another entry in the series’ long history. O’Hara said they are making the best Modern Warfare game yet. He added that the essence of their culture is striving to create the best game possible. They strive to do their work with passion and excellence. They ensure they can give each other good feedback, tell each other what needs improvement, and make the game better. They listen to feedback and don’t get selfish; they simply create the best game possible. This was a strong statement, followed by the declaration:

This game will not be available on Xbox Game Pass at its release, which could help boost declining sales figures. It won’t be released on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One either, so fans are looking forward to this year’s release with greater anticipation, as it won’t be held back by thirteen-year-old consoles. However, nothing is certain until we see it in action.
