We’ll Be Able to Return to the Zone Soon: The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 DLC Is Coming! [VIDEO]

GSC Game World will release the game’s DLC and the free 2.0 update at the same time. The studio hopes that the double launch will lure players back into the Zone.

The long-standing conflict between the Zone’s two leading factions, Duty and Freedom, takes a dramatic turn. As tensions rise and the fragile peace between them begins to unravel, the fate of the Zone hangs in the balance. In the Cost of Hope DLC, players once again take on the role of Skif, the protagonist of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, as a mysterious PDA signal pulls him into events unfolding alongside the main game’s story. Explore uncharted locations, encounter unexpected allies and enemies, discover powerful weapons, and experience a gripping new storyline. With dozens of hours of content, our choices will shape the future of the Zone in this major new chapter of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. saga.

Alongside the launch of Cost of Hope on August 20, GSC will release the massive 2.0 update for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. In addition to upgrading the game to a newer version of Unreal Engine 5, the update will introduce a wide range of new content and improvements. It will be available free of charge to every owner of the game. GSC will reveal more information about both Cost of Hope and the 2.0 update for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl over the coming weeks, so the Ukrainian studio recommends following its official channels for further news. If something new emerges, we will probably return to the game as well…

Incidentally, this is a rather interesting coincidence: we have already reported today on the Nioh 3: Hell Rising DLC, which will launch at almost the same time, just one day earlier. Several companies clearly appear to have prepared content for the period surrounding Gamescom, which is traditionally held toward the end of the month, so we will soon be able to immerse ourselves in the Zone through either the new DLC or the 2.0 update.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is available on three platforms. We can play it on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
