CINEMA NEWS – MobLand Season 2 premieres on SkyShowtime on September 21, bringing Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren back into the center of London’s underworld power struggle.

The newly released trailer makes one thing immediately clear: the series has no intention of softening the mixture of family drama, criminal strategy and sudden brutality that drove its first season. The Harrigans may be trying to present a united front, but their enemies can see the cracks forming inside the organization, while fixer Harry Da Souza is once again forced to keep a dangerous balance between business and home.

Season 2 will run for ten episodes and places the family under pressure from rising rivals eager to exploit its internal disputes. Unity is now a survival strategy rather than a slogan, yet the footage suggests that every temporary alliance carries its own price. Da Souza remains the man expected to solve impossible problems, even as those problems begin crossing the line into his private life.

Hardy, Brosnan and Mirren are joined by Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Teddie Allen, Emmett J. Scanlan, Johnny Flynn, Ophelia Lovibond, Janet McTeer and Toby Jones. That unusually deep ensemble gives the show room to widen the conflict without losing the personal rivalries that made the opening season work.

Violence follows the family home

 
The more interesting promise of the new season is not simply a larger body count. MobLand appears determined to show what happens when the violence used to protect a criminal empire becomes impossible to contain. Loyalties begin to shift, the sense of security around the family collapses, and the fight for power turns into a contest over who will still be standing when the dust settles.

The series was commissioned by Paramount+ and is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios. David C. Glasser, Guy Ritchie, Jez Butterworth and Tom Hardy are among its executive producers. New episodes will arrive weekly on SkyShowtime from September 21, while the complete first season is already available on the service.
