Running With Scissors’ game will feature VR support and is set to launch on multiple platforms soon.

Rebuilt in Unity 6, the new game preserves the original’s player-driven sandbox and unmistakable creative identity, while also improving every gameplay system. More than 20 years after the original release, Postal 2 Redux exists because of the game’s devoted fan base. It was funded on Kickstarter, where it hit its goal in a single day. Then, it was built in the open with the players who love it. The rebuild is a collaboration between Impact Reality, co-developers Flat2VR Studios and Team Beef, and original members of Running With Scissors.

Every major system has been rebuilt for modern hardware, offering scalable performance across platforms. Higher-resolution textures, upgraded lighting, shaders, and materials bring Paradise to life in a new way. This makes movement through Paradise far smoother than in the 2003 release. Players have total freedom to approach each day their way, from mild-mannered to mayhem, and no two playthroughs are ever the same. The smarter, more reactive crowds respond to the player and the world around them. The combat has been rebalanced and made weightier, and the environment is fully reactive and physics-driven. The Postal Dude’s loyal companion is back with new interactions: pet him, bring him along, weaponize him, and more. Postal 2 Redux debuts on the PlayStation 4 and 5 featuring modern controls and console optimization.

We’ve been hard at work delivering exactly that and bringing it to more platforms, like the PlayStation 5. Postal 2 Redux will be released this spring for the PlayStation 5 (with PlayStation VR2 support), PC (with VR support), the PlayStation 4, and the Meta Quest. It will arrive on additional platforms later.
