NCsoft’s open-world MMORPG has been delayed, but not by much, and it will still be released before Grand Theft Auto VI.
The sky is not the limit. It is the battlefield. Built on Unreal Engine 5, this MMORPG is set in a world 36 times larger than the original Aion and is the only one built for aerial combat. Aion 2‘s DNA is all about verticality, rewarding players who can think and fight in three dimensions. Every region, every battlefield and every encounter has been designed with verticality at its core. As a Daeva, flight is not just a way to travel; it’s also how you fight and explore, and how you impose your will on the world. Gain altitude to gain the upper hand and experience a scale of aerial combat unlike anything else in an MMORPG. Precision, timing and positioning shape every battle. Seamlessly chain skills, customise your class to fit your playstyle and adapt as encounters escalate. Every fight is a series of decisions, not a set routine.
From solo instances to large-scale raids, Aion‘s player-versus-environment mode is all about scale and variety. There are over 200 dungeons spanning multiple formats: Solo challenges, four-player party content and eight-player group dungeons. Seasonal challenges, competitive rankings and open-world events ensure the excitement never wanes, while the Abyss guarantees that player-versus-environment and faction warfare are always close by. Bring your vision to life with one of the most advanced character creation systems in an MMORPG. With over 200 customisation options, not to mention countless outfits, mounts and wings to collect, you can truly express yourself through your character. The Shugo Festival brings a variety of mini-games to Atreia. Protect the Shugos from waves of enemies, race pets against other players, dodge lasers, and much more besides. Earn unique rewards, including wings, skins, pets, and décor!
Originally scheduled for release on PC (Steam, Purple) in September, Aion 2 has been postponed to 5 October. However, those who purchase the Founder’s Pack will be able to play from 30 September. It was released in South Korea and Taiwan on 19 November last year for PC, iOS and Android. Prior to this, a launch-scale test will take place from 17 to 18 September (registration on Steam), during which a test environment similar to the actual service will be created to evaluate the stability of the servers and infrastructure, while giving users the opportunity to try out the game before its official release.
