Gaming Minds Studios and Kalypso Media have announced the release date for the next game in the Tropico franchise, and it won’t be in 2026.
Get rich or die trying! You are free to agree with El Presidente on the greatness of Tropico and his unmatched leadership skills. In Tropico 7, you will step into his shoes again to build your archipelago nation and literally move mountains. With great power comes great responsibility—and even greater opportunity. As the benevolent leader of your island nation, guide your loyal citizens (and your Swiss bank account) toward untold prosperity through the ages. Remember: Control isn’t tyranny; it’s efficiency, and more control means more efficiency—except when Penúltimo is involved, but that’s another story.
Exert your control and shape the landscape to fit your vision. Plan complex city layouts, fulfill your subjects’ multifaceted needs, give your army precise directions, and look down on your opponents in the council while revelling in your own splendor. Do you see how it all leads to greater efficiency? It could be an aspiring dictator’s dream come true. However, sometimes life gives you lemons. Or obstacles in the form of a very clever and annoying opponent: Victoria Guerra! You will need all your skills, cunning, and presidential “grandeur” to end this latest chapter with one simple truth: Victoria is not the revolution!
Lead your nation to new heights! In Tropico 7, El Presidente continues his success story across five campaign maps. He is joined by Penúltimo and a new nemesis: Victoria Guerra. The biggest islands ever in the series await your rule in archipelagos expanded with 10 extra scenarios, more than 20 sandbox maps, and an endless number of possibilities with a random map generator. Move mountains, erase them, create beaches, or even generate entirely new islands! The new terraforming feature will bring your megalomaniac dreams to life. Start that mammoth project NOW! Navigate the snares and pits of internal politics when you summon the different factions to your council. This is a new way to meet them face-to-face while you pulverize their dreams — or use them to your own advantage in a big deal.
Elections, election speeches, and a vast portfolio of edicts, depending on your political standing, will spice up your daily rule. Juggle foreign affairs and occasionally steal—er, relocate—a landmark to revel in its benefits. Strategically place buildings to take advantage of synergy effects, maintain high citizen satisfaction, and fill any unused plots of land with beautiful, freely customizable parks. Eliminate those pesky rebels and fend off foreign threats with a reworked military system that enables more direct control of your military units. Customize the appearance of your palace and El Presidente with new, creative options.
Tropico 7 will be released on January 28 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
