Street Fighter 6: Arjun Will Soon Join the Roster [VIDEO]

Capcom is in its fourth year of releasing content updates, and Arjun will be joining the fighting game roster as part of this initiative.

He served as a police officer in India until his trusted partner was murdered and he was framed for the crime. He now lives on the run, dedicated to uncovering the mystery behind his partner’s death. Arjun’s yoga breathing techniques make him a stalwart powerhouse who sacrifices speed for powerful strikes that can deal recoverable damage to his opponent, even after being blocked. These strikes can also devastate projectiles and clever traps, stealing his opponent’s breath in one fell swoop.

The Arm of Justice is a versatile winding punch that saps his opponent’s energy, with variants for different attack strengths and an optional follow-up. Cruel Shoulder is a lunging shoulder tackle that has different properties depending on the strength of the attack. The Breathing Ring is an airy ring formed by body and spirit that can be followed up with the Breathing Shockwave to propel the ring forward as a projectile at various angles. With Divine Pillar, Arjun blows enough air into the ground to raise it into a pillar of earth. The strength of the attack determines the distance, and holding the button delays the pillar’s activation. Contacting an active Divine Pillar with Cruel Shoulder allows Arjun to grab the pillar and swing it at his opponent in any direction.

Ghastly Interrogation is a command throw that deals only recoverable damage. However, it can deal normal damage if the opponent has already sustained recoverable damage. Arjun uses yogic breathing to hyper-oxygenate his muscles, allowing him to turn any incoming melee strikes into counterattacks that deal recoverable damage. While Indominable Defense is engaged, Arjun throws both fists forward, dealing recoverable damage on block or normal damage on hit. Arjun’s Level 1 Super Art, Howling Destruction, mows down foes with quick bursts of his breathing technique. His Level 2 Super Art, Instant Oblivion, sends foes flying into the air, far from him, where he can set up a Divine Pillar. In Arjun’s Level 3 Super Art, Yaksha’s Order, he disrupts his opponent’s inner ear before performing a devastating cinematic attack.

Arjun will be unlocked on October 13 for players who own or purchase the Year 4 Character Pass or the Year 4 Ultimate Pass. Outfit 1 depicts Arjun on the run in pursuit of vengeance. Outfit 2 represents an idealized Arjun who has put his quest for justice behind him. Outfit 2 can be unlocked by maxing out his Acquisition Gauge in Avatar Arcade Mode or with Fighter Coins. Arjun is the second character to be released from the upcoming Year 4 roster, which includes Tifa from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series, Bosch, and the previously released Yasmine.

This brings us one step closer to the Final Fantasy characters.
