The series will debut with two episodes. The remaining episodes of the 10-episode first season will be released weekly on Wednesdays. Created by Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, Landman (The Oilman) is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions.

Set in a booming town in West Texas, Landman (The Oilman) tells a modern story of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs. The series is based on the 11-part podcast titled “Boomtown” and explores the lives of oil workers and oil-seeking billionaires who ignite a boom that transforms climate, economy, and geopolitics.

In addition to Thornton, the series stars Ali Larter (The Last Victim), Michelle Randolph (1923), Jacob Lofland (Joker 2), Kayla Wallace (When Calls the Heart), James Jordan (Yellowstone), Mark Collie (Nashville), Paulina Chávez (The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia), and Demi Moore (Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans). Recurring guest stars include Jon Hamm (Mad Men) and Andy Garcia (Expendables franchise), while Michael Peña (End of Watch) also appears as a guest star.

The executive producers of Landman (The Oilman) are Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Christian Wallace, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, and Stephen Kay. Dan Friedkin and Jason Hoch from Imperative Development LLC and J.K. Nickell and Megan Creydt from Texas Monthly also serve as executive producers. Additional executive producer: Peter Feldman. Landman (The Oilman) is the latest addition to SkyShowtime’s expanding Sheridan collection, which includes 1883, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, Lioness, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, and the upcoming second season of 1923. All five seasons of Yellowstone are also currently streaming exclusively on SkyShowtime, with new episodes airing later this year.
