It’s time for the Japanese company’s next console to be unveiled to the public, because we’re getting to the point where only the hardware name is unknown and everything else will be leaked!
Everything we’re about to talk about has surfaced on Reddit from an unspecified Discord server (which Nintendo will probably have removed by now), courtesy of a Chinese user. The source is under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) and presumably a factory worker shared the details. Based on the images, the Nintendo Switch 2 (unofficial name) looks as rumored. It’s bigger than its predecessor, has a larger display, and the new Joy-Con controllers will have magnetic attachments.
Specifications for the Switch successor have also been leaked, and they’re mostly the same as we’ve heard before. It will have 12 GB of memory, LPDDR5X at 7500 MT/s, and 256 gigabytes of flash memory. We don’t know much about the SoC (system-on-a-chip) model name, but if these specs are real, we’ll probably hear more about the big N’s next hardware in the near future.

In any case, we should add that this is still not official information, but rumors suggest that Nintendo will announce the successor to the Switch within a month, since Sony has accelerated things a bit with the unveiling of the PlayStation 5 Pro, and thus can divert attention from the hardware that can be bought in Europe for €800, which, although it is visually stronger than many games (for example, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be much nicer; already mentioned in today’s news), Sony is asking for a price in return…
There’s only one question left, but it’s on everyone’s mind and it’s not controversial: how much will Nintendo charge for its post-Switch console? We wouldn’t be surprised if it’s $/€500.
