A Sims-Style Building Mode Leaked for Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Assassin’s Creed Shadows kept a significant feature under wraps, but now it has been revealed: a Sims-style building mode where players can construct their base by placing houses and roads. The leaked feature seems to be a continuation of the settlement development seen in Valhalla.

Until now, Ubisoft has mainly promoted Assassin’s Creed Shadows by sharing details about its characters, their combat styles, and the story that takes place in Japan. However, today the community was surprised by a Sims-like novelty: a mode that allows players to customize Naoe and Yasuke’s base by placing houses, roads, and decorative elements.

This information doesn’t come directly from Ubisoft but seems to have been posted prematurely by IGN China (via Eurogamer UK). As expected, the outlet has since removed all references to this mode in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Nevertheless, the community has quickly shared this option, which appears to be a continuation of the settlement upgrades from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Although we don’t have much information on this unexpected part of the game, the images initially shared by IGN China show a gameplay experience similar to The Sims’ Build Mode: starting from an empty space, players can establish structures and decorative elements (such as roads, wells, and bridges) to create their perfect base. This new feature in Assassin’s Creed Shadows likely won’t be purely aesthetic, as it seems to provide players with various advantages. We’ll learn the full details of this mode once Ubisoft officially presents it.

Ubisoft Japan has canceled its Tokyo Games Show 2024 broadcast

Besides the revelations about Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft announced a last-minute change to its Tokyo Games Show 2024 broadcast. The event has been unexpectedly canceled, according to an X post from Ubisoft Japan (via Genki on X), due to “various circumstances” that have not been detailed.
