Black Myth: Wukong: Physical Edition Release Coming Soon!

The game was released two months ago, but only digitally – a gap that Game Science will soon fill, but only on one platform.

Released on August 20th for PlayStation 5 (PlayStation Store) and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Black Myth: Wukong has since sold over 20 million copies. A large part of that is presumably in China for Game Science, as they are a Chinese studio and the population there is in the billions, so they have a much larger audience domestically, so they had a better chance of buying the product as it is a local game.

Game Science has announced on Twitter that a disc release for PlayStation 5 will be coming “very soon” (leaving PC players with digital-only availability on Steam/Epic Games Store again…). This doesn’t mean that the Xbox Series version will be released anytime soon, although we recently reported that the North American ESRB has already rated Black Myth: Wukong, although the European PEGI has not yet done so.

That information isn’t very accurate, but billbil-kun on the Dealabs website says that the PlayStation 5 disc edition of Black Myth: Wukong will be available from October 21, today, for $65 in North America, and will hit European shelves “very soon” for €70. So we’ll have to wait another week or two to get our hands on Game Science’s game. The box art can be seen below, so once again the leaker has a very credible source.

The only question now is when Black Myth: Wukong will find its way to the Xbox Series. It doesn’t even have a release date yet, so we can only speculate and therefore suspect that Sony and Game Science have made a time-limited exclusivity deal behind the scenes and are afraid to admit it.
