Chernobylite: More Than Just S.T.A.L.K.E.R.’s Zone on Switch! [VIDEO]

While we’ve already reported on the Nintendo Switch port of the first three S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, another game set in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone is about to enter the ring…

Originally released in 2021, Chernobylite was a huge success on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, and is now coming to the Nintendo eShop. Chernobylite is a science fiction survival horror role-playing game set in the wastelands of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Play as Igor, a physicist and former employee of the infamous Chernobyl power plant, who returns to Pripyat 30 years after the catastrophic nuclear disaster to investigate the mysterious disappearance of his fiancée. Face hostile military forces, other scavengers, mutated creatures and the harsh irradiated environment. Experience a journey of survival, conspiracy, horror, and obsession where your choices shape the unfolding story.

The game will be available in two forms. The Complete Edition includes the full base game and all content updates to date, including additional story missions, new locations, additional weapons, unique game modes, and more. The Chernobylite Premium Edition includes all of the above, plus digital downloads of the official Chernobylite soundtrack and art book, plus two cosmetic weapons and Hideout downloadable content: “The Seasoned Scavenger” and “Irradiated Hideout”.

The game was released more cautiously at the time. It was first only available on PC in early access (launched on October 16, 2019), and then released on PC on July 28, 2021 (where it was also available on Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG). It was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 28, 2021, and then came the current-gen update, as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series received Chernobylite on April 21, 2022, with a sequel officially announced.

The Nintendo Switch port of Chernobylite will be released by Untold Tales (digitally only: otherwise there would have been no mention of a Nintendo eShop), but it’s not yet known when.
