One of the most enjoyable feelings PC gamers have ever had is getting free games. Whether it’s rediscovering a forgotten gem or trying out a whole new genre, there’s little in the gaming industry that can give you more joy than expanding your game library for free. This time, it’s a horror-action sci-fi title that’s been a massive hit with the community, and now it’s yours for free on PC.

Get Dark Sector for free on PC

Do you know what Dark Sector is? You might not remember it, as it was released in 2008 (PC in 2009), but Dark Sector is available for free on Steam for Black Friday. You can claim it until 6:00 PM on November 30th. You only have a little more than two days left to get your hands on this title, developed by Digital Extremes, the studio behind Warframe.

In this case, it’s a third-person shooter with sci-fi elements that the community has loved.

The game has received “very positive” reviews on Steam for several reasons. All of this stems from its unique gameplay that offers dynamic and challenging combat mechanics based around the “Glaive” weapon. In fact, if you’ve played Warframe, you should know that Dark Sector was its primary inspiration. “Many parts and components of Dark Sector have inspired and continue to inspire Warframe, including our free update, Warframe: 1999, which is coming next month,” the press release states.

Narratively, Dark Sector puts the player in the role of Hayden, a secret agent who is attacked by an enemy infected with the Technocyte virus, a biological weapon that can turn humans into killing machines. However, Hayden discovers that this virus does not kill him, but makes him even stronger, endowed with powerful and inhuman abilities. Our abilities are varied and upgradeable, offering extended hours of varied gameplay.
