PlayStation Plus Extra & Premium: Final Update of the Year

Could Sony have given players subscribing to the two more expensive tiers of PlayStation Plus a bit more of a boost, or do they have nothing to look forward to in the final update of 2024?

The PlayStation Plus game catalog, which is available to both PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, is expanding to include the following games, and it’s fair to say it’s not a very long list: A Space for the Unbound (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Biped (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Coffee Talk (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Forspoken (PlayStation 5), Jurassic World Evolution 2 (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Phogs (PlayStation 4), Rabbids: Party of Legends (PlayStation 4), Sonic Frontiers (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4) and WRC Generations (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4).

As always, there’s also a PlayStation VR2 title, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge. The PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog, which only requires a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription, adds just three PS2 games. The only problem is that these were already announced by Sony when it revealed the PlayStation Plus Essential December titles (in celebration of PlayStation’s 30th birthday), so we’ve already heard about these games, but we’ll list them anyway: Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Sly 2: Band of Thieves (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4).

And that’s it. That concludes the PlayStation Plus 2024 updates. As with Xbox Game Pass, you’ll notice that the older lists were more prolific, and the pace of catalog expansion has slowed. PlayStation Plus Premium games are being added at a ridiculously slow rate, and there really isn’t much to stop Sony.

The last update of the year will arrive on December 17th.
