Key AI and Customization Innovations from LG OLED TVs Introduced in New QNED TV Models

TECH NEWS – LG Electronics (LG) is introducing its refreshed 2025 QNED evo lineup with a newly patented wide color gamut technology. The devices deliver true 4K resolution and up to 144Hz[1] refresh rates with wireless connectivity and ultra-low latency. The lineup also features advanced AI-powered image and sound processing, and personalization via webOS 25.

As part of LG’s dual strategy, alongside its market-leading OLED, the QNED evo lineup is a premium LCD TV lineup that features the latest innovations found in OLED TVs, such as advanced AI capabilities and wireless connectivity.

The 2025 QNED evo TV series delivers improved color reproduction compared to previous models thanks to LG’s new, patented Dynamic QNED Color Solution, which replaces the quantum dot solution. This unique technology allows the device to display clearer, more realistic colors than before using light from the backlight.

With the integration of Dynamic QNED Color Solution, the entire 2025 QNED evo product line has been certified by global testing organization Intertek for Color Volume, which proves that the screen can display the colors of the original images without distortion.

The 2025 QNED evo (QNED9M) comes with True Wireless 4K technology. This development was exclusive to the high-end OLED evo models (M series) last year, but is now available for the QNED evo. The innovative solution allows viewers to enjoy high-definition 4K content wirelessly without compromising on image quality or response time.[2] The wireless solution transmits high-definition video signals up to 4K and 144Hz refresh rates using a separate Zero Connect Box, while the TV itself only requires a single power cable, freeing up significant space.

The company is also further enhancing the picture and sound quality of its QNED evo product line with more powerful editions of its in-house developed AI processors. The 2025 models in the series are equipped with the α8 AI processor, which offers a nearly 70 percent improvement over the previous year’s AI performance.

These AI features provide enhanced upscaling, more realistic rendering of faces, objects, text and backgrounds, and in the case of movies, adjust picture settings according to the intention after analyzing the creative concept. Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro divides each scene into zones, fine-tunes HDR effects and brightness. In addition, the device uses AI to convert 2-channel audio sources into virtual 9.1.2-channel sound for richer spatial sound. It also distinguishes background sounds and speech, making them clearer and more natural.

The 2025 QNED evo devices feature a new AI button on the AI Magic Remote: to effectively analyze TV viewing preferences and to recommend relevant content and apps to users. Personalisation is further enhanced by the Generative AI Gallery[3], as well as customised TV picture and sound quality modes. A short press of the button brings up keywords and features relevant to users, while a long press allows for personalised searches using a large language model (LLM[4]). For example, if a user is planning a trip to France, they can ask the system via their remote control what films they would like to see. The AI understands the context and suggests films set in the French capital, taking into account the user’s viewing habits.

LG’s proprietary smart TV platform, webOS25, takes the user experience to the next level by offering fully personalized services and content through its AI features and five years of regular webOS updates under the webOS Re:New Program.

Responding to consumer demand for ultra-large, premium LCD TVs, LG is expanding its QNED lineup with the introduction of a 100-inch model, bringing the 2025 QNED lineup to sizes ranging from 40 to 100 inches.

“Our refreshed 2025 LG QNED evo lineup boasts the superior picture quality and true wireless connectivity inherited from OLED models, while also incorporating highly customized solutions to deliver an outstanding viewing experience that no other LCD TV can match,” said Hyoung-sei Park, head of LG Media Entertainment Solution Company.
