Elon Musk Plans to Produce 500,000 Optimus Robots in Just Two Years! [VIDEO]

TECH NEWS – The leader/owner of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter believes that humanoid robots will be the greatest products in history.

Tesla’s main business, car manufacturing, is not doing so well and now everyone is waiting for the unveiling of new models. But the competition is getting tougher, with many electric vehicles coming from China. So Tesla is looking for more legs, and a humanoid robot called Optimus is starting to take over the narrative around the company.Musk says that humanoid robots are becoming the biggest product yet, and that every human would like to have one, maybe two.

Musk predicts that the ratio of robots to humans could be 3:1, 4:1, or even 5:1, so there could be 20 to 30 billion worldwide. In a good AI scenario, he says, there will be no need for a universal basic income, but a high income for everyone. Musk says Optimus is the world’s most advanced humanoid robot. This year thousands of robots will be tested in Tesla factories, next year production will increase to 50-100,000, and in three years it could be about half a million. According to him, the figure should be the Roman legions, and there will be 5,000 robots per legion.

According to Musk, if all goes well, production will increase tenfold next year and a hundred times in two years (so Tesla will still be growing tenfold compared to 2026), making half a million a realistic target for 2027 (but they could reach 1 million). In November, there was a meeting between Musk and CC Wei, the chairman of TSMC, and there the Tesla CEO reportedly said that his company would lean towards the Optimus robot instead of cars (we wrote about this).

According to Bank of America analyst John Murphy, about 1,000 Optimus robots will reach Tesla’s factories by the end of this year, and the robot is a neural-network-trained, artificial-intelligence-enhanced device that can interact with external elements. It is currently powered by the AI4 chip used in the FSD, but may be replaced later this year by the AI5, which could go into production later this year. According to Bank of America, Tesla’s Optimus robot could be worth $10 billion per year by 2035 if about 200,000 units are sold at a price of $50,000.

Of course, this is a slightly more conservative forecast than Musk’s expectations.
