Developed in Spain and paying homage to classics like Ratchet & Clank, Duskfade is an upcoming action-platformer by Weird Beluga Studio and Fireshine Games. The title is set to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series in 2026.

Spain’s game development talent continues to shine with Weird Beluga Studio unveiling Duskfade, a colorful action-fantasy adventure that echoes the energy of beloved 3D platformers. Published by Fireshine Games, the studio describes the title as “reminiscent of classics like Ratchet & Clank or Jak and Daxter”, crafted as a nostalgic tribute to the genre’s golden era. The full release is expected in 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.

A Journey of Loss, Heart, and Transformation

The debut trailer showcases a magical, clockpunk-themed universe bursting with vibrant locales. Players will follow Zirian, a young apprentice on a mission to restore the flow of time in a world cloaked in eternal night. The adventure spans mystical forests, underwater kingdoms, glowing dunes, and high-altitude cloudscapes—all hiding mysteries waiting to be unraveled.

Zirian fights using a mighty greatsword and can glide across varied environments. The developers at Weird Beluga Studio describe Duskfade as “a heartfelt experience about growth, grief, and courage in a masterful blend of dynamic platforming and fast-paced combat”.

3D Platformer Fans Have Something to Watch

According to Sarah Hoeksma, Marketing Director at Fireshine Games, “Weird Beluga Studio is an incredibly talented team with a passion for platformers and a keen eye for creating beautiful, immersive worlds. We can’t wait for fans of the genre to explore the amazing world of Duskfade next year”. If early glimpses are any indication, 2026 might have one of the most promising new titles in the genre.
