A Middle-Eastern character has joined Street Fighter 5‘s roster – this is a first in the main series, so Capcom tries to reach out to new audiences with this move. (We’re not counting EX’s Pullum Puma, that is a spin-off game.)
Rashid was unveiled by the Street Fighter boss Yoshinori Ono in Dubai, at the Games 15 Middle East event. We can already say that Rashid is going to make good use of the wind, as he can control this power during matches. On top of that, he also seems to have some speed as well, so the combination of the two styles will make him an interesting character to play. We can’t judge which tier he will click into, as the game is still in beta and there’s definitely going to be finetuning. We can’t really show some serious videos, one of them is an off-screen, camera recording, and the other one is the announcement trailer – but still, you can kinda prepare on what to expect of Rashid by watching these two videos.
Street Fighter 5 – which uses Unreal Engine 4 – will launch in early 2016 on PlayStation 4 and PC.
