Bungie Under Fire: Former Developers Blame Greedy Leadership for Studio’s Struggles [VIDEO]

Former Bungie developers have come forward in a new video by Destin Legarie, accusing the studio’s leadership of greed and mismanagement—casting serious doubt on the future of the Marathon reboot.

According to the video, Bungie’s internal issues became more severe following the Sony acquisition. Ex-staffers claim that structural dysfunction and HR failures plagued the studio, with one former HR representative allegedly covering up harassment cases for personal gain during their departure.

The remarks paint a grim picture of a company that, in the words of one ex-developer, *is no longer the same Bungie that once thrilled FPS fans worldwide*. No specific names were mentioned in the video—only the term “leadership” was used to describe those held responsible at the top.

These revelations come after Bungie has been caught for the fourth time in recent years using art assets without permission or proper credit. This recurring controversy further undermines the studio’s credibility in the eyes of fans and developers alike.

One former employee bluntly stated that *everything happening at Bungie is because of greed*. Another added that *the problem lies in a lack of empathy for players, out-of-touch leadership, and a “corporate-first” culture*. A third emphasized how *internal language has shifted from “studio, games, and players” to “corporation, product, and customers”*—suggesting the studio’s priorities have shifted entirely from crafting enjoyable games to maximizing profit.

Over the past few years, Destiny 2 has been plagued with negative headlines, and the recent wave of layoffs has done little to improve morale. While much of the video remains speculative, Legarie points to one name where the buck stops: *Pete Parsons*, Bungie’s CEO, who has already been criticized before for his role in the studio’s decline.
