MOVIE NEWS – Prime Video has officially unveiled The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, the long-awaited prequel to the Chris Pratt-led action series. This new show places Taylor Kitsch in the spotlight as Navy SEAL Ben Edwards, while Pratt reprises his role as James Reece.
Prime Video confirmed that The Terminal List: Dark Wolf will premiere on August 27 with three episodes, followed by weekly releases through September 24. Joining Pratt and Kitsch are several newcomers, including Tom Hopper (Raife Haistings), Robert Wisdom (Jed Haverford), Luke Hemsworth (Jules Landry), Dar Salim (Mohammed Farooq), Rona-Lee Shimon (Eliza Perash), Shiraz Tzarfati (Tal Varon), Jared Shaw (Ernest “Boozer” Vickers), and Michael Ealy. Adapting The Terminal List into a series has brought many benefits, giving it a stronger impact than a movie version ever could.
The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is set before the events of the original 2022 series. While Pratt led the first season and Kitsch had a supporting role, this time the tables have turned. Viewers will learn about Ben Edwards‘ origin story and his involvement with CIA Special Operations. The Terminal List revealed that Edwards was a traitor, betraying not just his unit but also his closest friend, Reece. Dark Wolf will explore how that betrayal came to be. Here’s the official synopsis:
Co-created by bestselling author Jack Carr and showrunner David DiGilio, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf follows “Ben Edwards” (Taylor Kitsch) as he moves from Navy SEAL missions to the shadowy world of CIA Special Operations. The series is a spy thriller that delves into the dark realities of war and the human costs involved. Chris Pratt also returns as James Reece.
What’s the Status of The Terminal List Season 2?
Based on Jack Carr’s book series, The Terminal List’s future remains bright, especially now that Season 2 is officially in development. It took three years for production news to emerge, but in early May, it was revealed that Chris Pratt is back as James Reece. There’s no official release date for the next season, but it likely won’t return before late 2026, making it a four-year gap since the original premiere. In the meantime, Dark Wolf should help tide fans over.
The first season was widely criticized for its lack of substance, receiving only a 40% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it found a loyal audience on Prime Video, boasting a 94% Popcornmeter audience score and solid viewership, making it the perfect “switch off your brain” action series.
