Borderlands 4 finally puts fans’ biggest fears to rest: its price tag isn’t nearly as scary as many expected. The Borderlands community braced for an $80/€90 sticker shock, but the game is now listed in stores at a much more reasonable price.
It’s been a chaotic few weeks for Gearbox Software. Not only did rumors about spyware in their games (since denied) rattle fans, but CEO Randy Pitchford’s comments about Borderlands 4’s pricing set the internet ablaze. Until today, the official numbers were a mystery—now we know the game won’t be as expensive as some feared.
Pre-orders are now live for Borderlands 4 across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. For the first time, players can see the standard and special edition prices for themselves. Here’s the rundown:
- Borderlands 4 Standard – €69.99 (PC), €79.99 (PS5/Xbox Series)/$69.99
- Borderlands 4: Deluxe Edition – €99.99/$99.99
- Borderlands 4: Super Deluxe Edition – €129.99/$129.99
Many feared industry-wide price hikes would push Borderlands 4 into $80 territory. Pitchford fanned the flames when he said: “true fans will find a way to pay for it”—sparking immediate backlash. He later clarified, saying it was a “misunderstanding” and that massive investments are now required for development; plus, he doesn’t control the final pricing. With all eyes on 2K Games and Take-Two, the looter-shooter’s fate was finally sealed today.
Borderlands 4: Post-Launch DLC and Special Editions Revealed
Price wasn’t the only news: Gearbox also shared new details about Borderlands 4’s post-launch content. Deluxe Edition buyers will get the Bounty Pack Bundle, which adds four new areas, extra missions, weapons, gear, vehicles, cosmetics, and more. The Super Deluxe Edition ups the ante with everything above, plus a Vault Hunter Pack featuring two playable characters, two additional stories, two new regions, and more exclusive perks.
