Beat Saber: PlayStation Versions Will No Longer Be Supported!

Beat Games will end support for PlayStation VR2 and PlayStation VR versions of Beat Saber, with multiplayer modes also set to be discontinued soon.

Beat Games has announced to players on Sony consoles (and VR headsets) that Beat Saber will no longer receive updates or DLC, and in seven months, multiplayer features will be disabled. The game will remain playable offline, and it will still be available for purchase (cross-buy between PS4 and PS5 remains), so it will not disappear entirely from the PlayStation Store.

“Dear PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 players, as we look to the future and plan the next big leap for Beat Saber, we have made the difficult decision to stop releasing updates for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 starting in June 2025. Our passion for virtual reality remains strong. We’re excited about the possibilities ahead and what we can bring to Beat Saber fans who have joined us on this journey over the past seven years.

This update will not affect your ability to keep playing Beat Saber, and you will still have access to content previously purchased on the PlayStation platform. Beat Saber will still be available for purchase on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and you can play or purchase songs and music packs released before June 18, 2025. However, after that date, no new content will be released for these platforms.

Additionally, starting January 21, 2026, multiplayer will no longer be available in Beat Saber on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5. Cross-buy will remain active between the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 base games. We’re grateful for the incredible support you’ve shown us over the years, and we look forward to sharing what the future holds for Beat Saber,” wrote Beat Games.

So, Beat Games is pulling back from PlayStation for now, but we’ll likely hear more about the studio’s next moves in the future. Just as a reminder: Meta acquired Beat Games in November 2019.
