Vaultbreakers: The Fantasy Action RPG So Impressive Even the Final Fantasy Creators Invested – and You Can Play It Free Right Now! [VIDEO]

This fantasy action RPG didn’t just catch the eye of the creators of Final Fantasy—Square Enix has now invested in Vaultbreakers, and BetaDwarf is launching a brand-new public test for everyone to try the game themselves.

BetaDwarf has been hard at work on Vaultbreakers for years, bringing players a fantasy action RPG that blends PvE, PvPvE, and constant world evolution thanks to community-driven changes. The project has already gone through multiple playtests, and with a new injection of capital from Square Enix, development is set to accelerate even further.

If you haven’t heard of it: Vaultbreakers invites players into a world of epic spells, huge bosses, enemies galore, and deep customization, from crafting to magical environments that morph with player actions. Whether solo or in co-op, you’ll hunt relics and escape deadly dungeons as the adventure unfolds.

Square Enix saw so much promise in the game that it’s now officially on board. “Square Enix is always looking for high-quality games and talented development studios. When I played Vaultbreakers, I was genuinely excited by the experience of connecting with other players and exploring its rich world,” said Hideaki Uehara, Square Enix’s general manager of business development. “After visiting BetaDwarf and learning about the team’s mission and passion, we decided to invest in them to help them achieve their dream and deliver this game to players around the world.”

Steffen Kabbelgaard, CEO and Game Director at BetaDwarf, added: “Having Square Enix join us on this journey gives us access to expertise, resources, and talent. Vaultbreakers has already seen a massive community join in, with over 15 playtests and more than 50,000 players refining the experience. Getting this kind of backing so deep into production is a huge boost. I’m really excited about what comes next!”

Vaultbreakers Is Free to Try – But Only for a Limited Time!

If all of this has you curious, BetaDwarf has just launched another public playtest for Vaultbreakers on Steam, running until July 9. If you miss it, don’t worry: more playtests are coming in the months ahead—so wishlist the game and watch for your chance to jump in!
