PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium: Not a Strong Line-Up in July!

The middle and top tiers of Sony’s subscription service are set for a new update, and this time the games are a little spread out on PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium release-wise.

The PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, available to both Extra and Premium subscribers, has already made this month’s highlight title, Cyberpunk 2077 (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), accessible. There’s a new indie game as well—Abiotic Factor (PlayStation 5)—which subscribers can download starting July 22. The rest of the new games become available July 15: Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden (PS5), Bluey: The Videogame (PS5, PS4), New World: Aeternum (PS5), Planet Zoo (PS5), Risk of Rain 2 (PS5, PS4), Tropico 6 (PS5, PS4).

The PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog is now only for Premium subscribers, but it’s only being expanded with two PS1 titles this month: Twisted Metal III (PS5, PS4) and Twisted Metal 4 (PS5, PS4). Both games were already announced by Sony back in early June. Each features enhanced rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters.

All told, the lineup is just ten new games, two of which Sony had previously spoiled, plus one new indie, and another that was infamously troubled on PlayStation 4. As usual, Sony hasn’t revealed which games are leaving the catalog, and, for August, we’re betting only Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis join the Classics lineup.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
