Dragami Games has signed an agreement with another company to co-produce future projects, meaning the chainsaw heroine won’t be alone.
Dragami Games has entered into a partnership with Nada Holdings, a Taiwanese investment and development firm, to jointly create projects related to the Lollipop Chainsaw intellectual property. According to the press release, these upcoming initiatives will span multiple projects and cross-industry collaborations. That means they’re not only planning games but may also be exploring a transmedia approach—ideas that go beyond just video games.
“Thirteen years ago, our original development team poured immense passion and creativity into creating Lollipop Chainsaw. Since then, the game has continued to receive tremendous support and love from fans. We are deeply grateful for this support, and it moves us profoundly. To expand the title further and meet our fans’ expectations, Dragami Games has made the important decision to move forward with a new phase of IP development for Lollipop Chainsaw.
The Nada Holdings team shares a deep affection and enthusiasm for the title and has a proven track record in IP investment and development. Through this partnership, we look forward to working together to create new projects that carry on the spirit and charm of the original while bringing fresh value to the franchise,” said Shohei Sato, Dragami Games President and CEO, in a press release.
“As a huge fan of Lollipop Chainsaw, I am truly honored and delighted to be involved in expanding this intellectual property. Moving forward, Nada Holdings will devote itself wholeheartedly to preserving the spirit of the original work and meeting the expectations of its fans. Together with Dragami Games, we are committed to developing a wide range of new projects,” added Joe Teng, chairman of Nada Holdings.
We’re eager to see what comes out of the partnership between these two companies—maybe we’ll learn more over time. In any case, it’s encouraging to see that a Taiwanese, rather than a Chinese, company is providing support. That’s a rarity.
