Although the system requirements of the game have changed, this was only achieved by a certain trick, so it’s not as good as you might first think.
Let’s take a look at the PC system requirements for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers:
Minimum system requirements – with DLSS or FSR enabled:
Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (no version number is mentioned)
Processor: Intel Core i5-8400/AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB VRAM)/AMD Radeon RX 580 (8 GB VRAM)
DirectX: DX12
Free storage: 60 GB (SSD recommended, HDD supported)
Recommended system requirements – with DLSS or FSR enabled:
Operating system: Windows 10/11 x64 (no version number mentioned)
Processor: Intel Core i7-9700/AMD Ryzen 5 5500
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070/AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT/Intel Arc A750
DirectX: DX12
Free storage: 60 GB (SSD required)
These are lower than the previously reported system requirements, but there’s a trick to it. They have joined the ranks of developers who recommend using upscaling. If you were to play without it, you would need a much more powerful processor and graphics card. Consequently, what we see here is essentially a cheat because DLSS and FSR should not be considered mandatory technologies.
One more thing to point out: In neither case did the system requirements mention resolution or frame rate. This could mean that Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is slightly unoptimized and the developers are trying to hide it, nor that the developers themselves don’t know what to include and changed their approach due to criticism regarding the older, more demanding system requirements list.
The final system requirements for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers were revealed rather late, as the game’s release date is approaching. It will be released on July 24 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC and will be available on Xbox Game Pass from the beginning. So, a week before the launch, this list was announced.
