We haven’t seen this cyberpunk RPG for a year, but the Gamescom 2025 trailer makes two things clear: it looks incredible and could be closer to release than we thought. Announced two years ago, Neo Berlin 2087 gets a new showcase from Elysium Game Studio ahead of the Cologne expo.
Just days before Gamescom 2025 begins, Elysium Game Studio has revealed new material from its long-awaited cyberpunk action RPG. The team has not only expanded on the world and setting of Neo Berlin 2087, but also unveiled the identities of two previously unseen characters who will join Nolan, the detective protagonist, in a trailer full of action and futuristic atmosphere.
Created as a teaser before the German trade fair, the new trailer introduces Bryan and Phoenix, two characters joining the game’s cast. Bryan’s look is reminiscent of the iconic Morpheus from The Matrix, while Phoenix’s short but striking appearance shows a level of visual detail that reaffirms the project’s technical polish. Their brief dialogues reveal aspects of their personalities, while their models almost leap off the screen thanks to quality animation and texturing.
After a Year of Silence, Neo Berlin 2087 Turns Up the Heat
Beyond the new additions, the trailer reinforces Neo Berlin 2087 as an immersive narrative experience. Set in a futuristic, dark Berlin, players take on the role of a detective navigating intrigue, relationship-altering decisions, and shooter action. The game will switch between first- and third-person perspectives to enhance both investigative immersion and the spectacle of combat.
The trailer doesn’t just showcase dialogue and atmosphere from the final game: action takes the spotlight too. Gunfights, chases, and confrontations in urban environments confirm that the project seeks to balance moments of narrative reflection with carefully choreographed, cinematic sequences. This combination strengthens the feeling that the game aims not only to tell a story, but also to provide varied mechanics and an engaging pace for different player types.
Neo Berlin 2087 is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, though it has no release date yet. Elysium Game Studio encourages players to add it to their wishlist on Steam, Epic Games Store, and PlayStation Store, as it continues refining a title aiming to become one of the standout offerings in the current cyberpunk scene.
