La Divina Commedia: A Dark Fantasy Action RPG Set in the Depths of Hell [VIDEO]

The developers of Enotria: The Last Song, Milan-based Jyamma Games, have unveiled their next ambitious project: La Divina Commedia. Inspired by Dante Alighieri’s literary masterpiece, this dark fantasy action RPG will launch for PC via Steam, with more platforms to be announced. No release date has been set yet.

La Divina Commedia reimagines the epic imagery of Dante’s The Divine Comedy through Jyamma Games’ signature visual style. The story unfolds in a world where Dante’s verses have become sacred law, ushering in a short-lived golden age of justice and faith.

When sinister forces twist the promises of the poem, order crumbles, and chaos consumes humanity. Players assume the role of a warrior-poet, trapped deep in the infernal underworld, who must descend through the circles of Hell, confront demonic forces, and atone for their sinful past.

Combat Systems, Morality, and Customization

Each weapon class features unique mechanics, and procedurally generated extraction dungeons will add dynamic replayability. A morality system based on the Seven Deadly Sins shapes the narrative, allowing players to align with their personal code of righteousness—or wickedness.

Weapons and armor can be fully customized in both stats and appearance, offering strategic depth and visual flair. Players can also choose between male and female protagonists, tailoring the story to their preferred tone and emotional resonance.

Next-Gen Motion Capture and Visuals

La Divina Commedia leverages cutting-edge motion capture technology provided by a world-class studio previously involved in projects like Phantom Blade Zero. The result is high-fidelity animation and rich combat interactions that elevate both action and atmosphere.

With its compelling mix of lore, tactical combat, and aesthetic detail, La Divina Commedia stands as one of the most unique RPGs in development—bringing Italy’s greatest literary work into an immersive gaming experience.
