Xbox Cloud Gaming: Now Available for More Game Pass Subscribers to Test!

The cloud gaming service once known as xCloud is opening up to a wider audience as Microsoft launches a broader testing phase. Xbox users in the Insider program can now try out the Xbox Cloud Streaming beta with a Game Pass Core or Game Pass Standard subscription, something previously reserved for Ultimate-tier subscribers.

Microsoft also confirmed that the service includes the ability to stream your own games, a feature rolled out in late 2024 following community demand. But that’s not the only Insider update: PC gamers will now see more titles available through the Xbox app as part of their Game Pass subscription.

For the first time, Insiders with Core or Standard subscriptions will get access to select PC versions of games, offering more flexibility to play on desktop or Windows handheld devices. To browse what’s included, download and open the Xbox PC app, sign in, and select the Game Pass tab to view the catalog.

This update expands the overall library and makes it easier to hop into favorite titles across multiple screens, whether on console, PC, or via supported cloud devices. Those who aren’t yet part of the Insider Program but want to shape the future of Xbox and test features early can join today by downloading the Xbox Insider Hub for Xbox Series, Xbox One, or Windows PC.

It’s another sign of Microsoft’s accelerated push in the gaming space. While PlayStation remains quiet, the Redmond-based company is making hardware moves with devices like the Asus ROG Xbox Ally and its upgraded Ally X model. Sony, meanwhile, appears to be lagging behind—and their game lineup hardly helps matters.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
