Konami Asks Fans What Metal Gear Should Be the Next Remake

With Metal Gear Solid 3 now remade, Konami has already begun preparing additional Metal Gear remakes — but it’s turning to players to name the next candidate. A fresh Konami poll surprised the community by asking directly which title should follow MGS3 Delta Snake Eater, while also hinting at more remakes and progress on the Master Collection Vol.2.

The revival of the Metal Gear Solid franchise has been thrilling news for long-time fans. The series’ legacy remains strong, and now that the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake is out, many are eager to learn Konami’s next move. For those hoping for additional remakes or the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.2, there are reasons for optimism.

According to the Metal Gear Network account, Konami distributed a survey on the eve of Tokyo Game Show 2025, directly asking attendees which entry they would most like to see remade after MGS3 Snake Eater. The poll gives fans a chance to voice their preferences for future franchise revivals, and many view this as a positive sign that Konami could begin pre-production on the next remake in the coming months.

Which Metal Gear Remake Would You Like to See Next?

The survey lists several franchise entries as potential remake candidates:

  • Metal Gear
  • Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
  • Metal Gear Solid
  • Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
  • Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
  • Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
  • Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
  • Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
  • Others (Konami invites fans to write in their choice)

The questionnaire also references plans for the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2, a compilation whose contents have previously leaked. While that is hardly a shock, it does confirm Konami’s continued work on the collection and suggests they are taking lessons from the Master Collection Vol.1’s missteps.

Ultimately, the decision now leans on the fans, as Konami appears open to producing more remakes — especially in light of the strong sales of the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake. The company recently stated it is hiring and training young developers to work on future Metal Gear titles, an initiative sparked by the realization that newer generations often lack familiarity with the series, underscoring the need for more games, remakes, or modern re-releases of the classics.
