Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Will It Follow the iPhone 17’s Footsteps Regarding the Display?

TECH NEWS – The South Korean tech giant is preparing to introduce new materials, which may be necessary given the significant advancements of the iPhone 17.

Samsung is expected to introduce new display materials in the Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to recent rumors, the S26 Ultra will have a superior panel compared to the M13 version and will support Color Filter on Encapsulation (CoE) technology. This combination could make Samsung’s 2026 flagship smartphone one of the best devices on the market. Before the official launch of the iPhone 17, rumors circulated that Apple would use the newer M14 OLED panels in all four models. The M14 panels’ biggest advantage is their improved blue light-emitting efficiency. Compared to older M13 panels, M14 OLED brightness can be increased by 30%, and its lifespan can be extended.

According to ETNews, Samsung is keeping pace with Apple and will incorporate this technology into the Galaxy S26 Ultra. By combining the M14 OLED with Samsung’s CoE technology, which increases light transmittance and saves energy, the S26 Ultra will offer customers a unique screen. The flagship model will reportedly feature Samsung’s Flex Magic Pixel technology, which acts as a privacy film without the need for additional accessories.

Unfortunately, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the only model that will come equipped with the newer M14 OLED panels. The Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge are expected to reach consumers with the older M13 panels. The Ultra is Samsung’s flagship and comes with several exclusive updates. Notably, this will be the first time in three years that the company integrates an Exynos chipset into this specific model. The Exynos 2600 is reportedly entering full production by the end of the month.

We will have to wait and see if this system-on-a-chip (SoC) will indeed be included in the Galaxy S26 Ultra, something previously linked to cost-efficiency reasons.
