Nvidia CEO: “No One Needs Atomic Bombs, But Everyone Needs AI!” [VIDEO]

TECH NEWS – Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, argues that nations should invest in sovereign artificial intelligence rather than nuclear weapons.

Huang emphasized that building independent AI infrastructure is essential for sovereign nations, and he believes it is even more critical than the development of atomic bombs. In 2025, several countries — including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and many in Europe — invested significant sums in AI data centers. Huang coined the term “sovereign artificial intelligence,” and in an interview with BG2, he argued that building this infrastructure is becoming a necessity. According to him, the long-term importance of AI will likely surpass that of nuclear weapons.

“Nobody needs atomic bombs; everyone needs AI. AI, as you know, is modern software. That’s where I started: from general-purpose computing to accelerated computing. From human-written code to AI-written code. That foundation cannot be forgotten. We reinvented computing, and everyone needs it. All countries realize that they must enter the world of AI,” said Huang.

It’s striking to see Huang take such a bold stance on sovereign AI. Judging by the current situation, nations are rushing to adopt the full spectrum of AI technology. State-backed organizations such as HUMAIN AI are investing tens of billions of dollars to create independent computing power for deploying and operating advanced AI models. According to Huang, every country needs sovereign AI because it’s as fundamental as electricity, water, or any other infrastructure.

This perspective explains why Huang has become an indispensable figure for the current administration — and why he often accompanies Donald Trump on foreign visits. Huang believes that nations will eventually need to integrate AI into manufacturing, industry, and national security operations. As such, having an independent computing platform is a crucial step for every country.

Of course, AI is still in its “naive stage” when it comes to government adoption, but history shows that early adopters are often the ones who win the race.
