MOVIE NEWS – Early reviews for Black Phone 2 have arrived, and the reactions are overwhelmingly positive, with Rotten Tomatoes scores hovering around 80–81%.
According to Brian Tallerico, the film shines brightest when it dives into the surreal realm of nightmares, where fear manifests in unexpected and inventive ways.
“Under Scott Derrickson’s direction, dream, reality, past, and present blend together into a haunting world,” writes Rocco T. Thomson from Slant Magazine.
Peter Debruge from Variety calls the movie wonderfully terrifying, while Megan Navarro (Bloody Disgusting) praises it as a powerful vision that uniquely reinterprets the legacy of classic horror.
Jeff Ewing (Collider) highlights Ethan Hawke’s chilling performance, claiming the actor has created another immortal villain — one even more terrifying in this sequel.
In Black Phone 2, the young heroes face off against a returning supernatural threat years after the original events, answering many lingering questions along the way.
