One of the games will undergo an open alpha test, while the other will be released on a different platform.
Owlcat announced that its team-based, story-driven cRPG, Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy, will have an open alpha on PC. You can join the alpha test as a founding member through the Owlcat Games website. Access is available at the $80 and $290 collector’s edition levels. In this version, players become Inquisitors and conduct investigations to uncover grand conspiracies. They will also master tactical combat and wage a secret war against heresy as agents of the God-Emperor’s will. Dark Heresy will be released not only on PC but also on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader was first released on December 7, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. A Nintendo Switch 2 port is also in the works. Begin your journey in the first classic computer role-playing game set in the grim darkness of the 41st millennium. Become a Rogue Trader and reign over your trade empire as a scion of an ancient dynasty of daring privateers. Explore the fringes of the Imperium’s frontier. Travel incredible distances in your massive spaceship, moving between numerous systems across the Koronus Expanse, a scarcely charted and extremely dangerous region of space. Though considered a backwater of the Imperium, this region is filled with prodigious opportunities for profit and exploration.
Show mercy or disdain to your subjects, remain loyal to the God-Emperor, or consort with enemies of Mankind. Every decision and act of the Rogue Trader sends ripples throughout the entire sector, changing the in-game world and its inhabitants. Rogue Traders never travel alone. Gather a retinue of holy warriors, twisted psykers, and perfidious xenos. They are all ready to follow you into the darkness between the stars. They will offer you counsel, aid you in battle, and help you gather more power. In return, you can guide them through their personal journeys and change their destinies forever.
Slaughter the enemies of Mankind in a fully realized turn-based combat system. Take advantage of cover, the environment, and careful positioning to overpower your enemies. If that is not enough, use your companions’ powerful abilities to turn the tide of battle and achieve victory, even in the most dire situations. Our video game adaptation of the classic Rogue Trader ruleset offers an enormous number of possibilities for you to explore.
Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader has sold over 1 million copies and will be released for the Nintendo Switch 2 on December 11 at a price of $50.
