MOVIE NEWS – The first trailer for Michael, the film about the King of Pop, has finally arrived. It looks promising, and lead actor Jaafar Jackson, the legend’s nephew, appears strikingly convincing in every respect.

The film is directed by veteran Antoine Fuqua (Training Day), with much of the Jackson family involved as producers. It charts Michael’s rise, from Jackson 5 child prodigy to world-conquering superstar.

The production’s path has been eventful. Filming wrapped last May, and the release was initially set for early October this year. The concept was then rethought, reshoots followed, the premiere was pushed back, and rumors spread that the film might ultimately arrive in two separate parts.

For now, even Variety cannot confirm whether it will be split into two, but based on the trailer, the spring release of Michael looks promising.
