Carmageddon: Rogue Shift: Leaked Before the Announcement! [VIDEO]

Although the game has not yet been officially confirmed, it has already appeared on Steam, where attempts to disguise its name have failed.

A game with a censored name, ███████████: Rogue Shift, has appeared on Steam. The teaser video (embedded below) also obscures the name of the game. However, a look at recent changes to the Steam page on SteamDB reveals that the game is actually called Carmageddon: Rogue Shift. The developer, 34BigThings, has been revealed before the official announcement. So, who is developing this game? It’s worth taking a look at them, too.

Based in Turin, Italy, 34BigThings was acquired by the Embracer Group five years ago. The team is known for Redout. The game features futuristic racing (à la Wip3out) and spawned an arcade space shooter in 2021, Redout: Space Assault. A sequel, Redout II, was released in 2022. This promises to be a major shift for them, as the Carmageddon franchise is essentially the opposite of what the Italian team has been doing so far.

Much of the content on Steam has been censored, but we can tell that it’s a combat racing roguelite with no shortage of zombies in Carmageddon: Rogue Shift, which will be officially announced on December 4 at 4 AM Pacific. By then, half the world will know 34BigThings’ next game, and we’d like to take a guess. We think it’s Carmageddon: Rogue Shift will be released in spring or early summer 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and possibly Nintendo Switch 2.

THQ Nordic, part of the Embracer Group, acquired the franchise rights in 2018. The first installment was developed by Stainless Games, who were also behind 2016’s Carmageddon: Max Damage and 2017’s Carmageddon: Crashers. While the franchise is in new hands, we have one question: Why the need for a roguelite twist?
