Lies of P: According to the Director, The Sequel Will Not Disappoint!

The sequel to Pinocchio-Souls, developed by Round8 and Neowiz, is already in the works.

Director Choi Ji-won assures players that the sequel to the critically acclaimed Lies of P will not disappoint. After winning the Best Add-on/DLC award at the 2025 Golden Joystick Awards, the director of one of the best Souls clones ever released (not developed by FromSoftware) commented on the future of co-developers Round8 and Neowiz. He assured players that the game in development will be amazing.

He promised that the game will be the most fun possible and asked us to stay tuned because they are working very hard to make sure it does not disappoint. Although the director did not specifically mention the sequel, the timing and context of the latest award naturally draw attention to the continuation of the Lies of P series rather than to other projects currently in development at Neowiz. Lies of P: Overture, released this year, was developed as a potential sequel. It will be interesting to see how the next installment achieves the level of entertainment promised by Choi Ji-won.

The Lies of P: Overture DLC definitely deserved the award for Best Add-On at the 2025 Golden Joystick Awards. Although it doesn’t seem significantly different from the base game, it masterfully expands on its core features, delivering an immersive experience that makes the sometimes unfair challenge level easy to overlook. This level has been lowered slightly since release, though it’s unclear if this was necessary.

It’s hard to guess when the sequel to Lies of P will be released. It will definitely be three to four years before it comes out, so we won’t see it launch before 2028. By then, the PlayStation 6 and the next-gen Xbox will surely be in stores.
