Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Is Nearly Finished, And Its Reveal Could Drop Very Soon!

Development on the third chapter of Final Fantasy VII Remake has progressed so far that its gameplay is practically complete, and a full announcement might be just around the corner. According to director Naoki Hamaguchi, Square Enix is “almost at a point where they can share more information” about the new RPG.

Square Enix has been releasing only small hints about the final entry of the Remake trilogy. The studio has promised a tighter, better-balanced narrative, yet no trailer or screenshots have surfaced so far. That may soon change, as one of the lead developers now says the gameplay experience is “more or less” finished and the reveal should not be far off.

The statement comes from Naoki Hamaguchi in an interview with Julien Chièxe on YouTube (via Genki on X). Hamaguchi explained that development is in its polishing phase, and expressed confidence that fans will be pleased with the work done so far.

As for when we’ll see an official trailer, the many details already revealed by Square Enix have fueled speculation that the announcement is imminent. Hamaguchi reinforced this idea by saying the team is “almost at a point where they can share more information,” making it clear that the reveal isn’t far away.

Square Enix has not yet chosen the final title of the game. Hamaguchi said he is working with Tetsuya Nomura to narrow the options down to two. He also mentioned that the experience will differ from both Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, with “Highwind” serving as a key thematic element.

Square Enix Is Already Preparing for Post-Trilogy Projects

Even though the studio’s main focus is completing the trilogy, some team members are already exploring what could come next. They are considering DLCs to expand the story, and even the possibility of developing a completely new game. Cloud’s journey, it seems, may not end with Part 3.
