New event time – grab your calendar and circle it, because Resident Evil 9: Requiem now has a date and a time for a live broadcast that’s set to deliver a flood of updates. Capcom has announced a Resident Evil Showcase airing on January 15 at 11:00 PM.
Plenty of players have only just come back from their winter break, but the video game machine hasn’t slowed down, and an event is already lined up to build even more anticipation for one of the most awaited releases right now: Resident Evil 9: Requiem. Best of all, fans won’t be waiting long for Capcom’s newly revealed broadcast, because it goes live on January 15 at 11:00 PM (Spanish Peninsula Time).
Capcom hasn’t shared many specifics about what it will show during the Resident Evil Showcase, but players should expect updates and new gameplay footage for Resident Evil 9: Requiem. More precisely, details posted on the event’s official website state that the Japanese company has prepared a 12-minute special packed with the latest information on its next major release – and the surprise can be watched live on the Resident Evil YouTube channel.
A Broadcast Where We’ll See Leon S. Kennedy Again
With The Game Awards 2025 officially confirming the presence of the iconic Leon S. Kennedy (a detail that leaked hours earlier on the PS5 store), it’s entirely possible the gameplay shown at the Resident Evil Showcase will feature the well-known character. After all, Capcom has structured the project so that Grace Ashcroft handles the stealthy, suspense-driven scenes, while Leon takes on the intense, adrenaline-heavy action sections.
In other words, Resident Evil 9: Requiem positions itself as a hybrid experience built around a single, unified story. Pulling that off wasn’t easy for Capcom, as the developers have compared the split between Grace and Leon to “mixing two games with completely different kinds of tension”. It was such an unusual experiment that the team worried “players wouldn’t be able to keep up”, but they now see it as a welcome “contrast” that gives “a unique rhythm” to both protagonists’ journey.
Players will be able to sample that blend firsthand in just a few days through the aforementioned Resident Evil Showcase. And it will be only a small taste of what’s ahead before the official launch of Resident Evil 9: Requiem, which arrives on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 starting February 27. So fans won’t have to wait much longer to sink their teeth into the next numbered entry in Capcom’s legendary franchise.

![However, an anonymous GOG employee paints an even darker tone of the internal situation: „We were told it’s a financial decision. GOG’s revenue couldn’t keep up with growth, the fact that we’re dangerously close to being in the red has come up in the past few months, and the market’s move towards higher [developer] revenue shares have, or will, affect the bottom line as well.](https://thegeek.games/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/the-gog-1-300x365.jpg)
