Star Wars Jedi 3: Is the End of Respawn’s Trilogy Coming Surprisingly Soon? [VIDEO]

If the rumors are true, it will be interesting to see the effect on Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is one of the best Star Wars games, and its sequel surpassed it in every way. With the confirmation of the third and final game, we are seeing something we previously thought impossible – a Star Wars trilogy in which all three games are excellent. Shortly after the release of the final installment, Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment announced that the sequel to 2023’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is in the works. It will likely conclude Cal’s story and reveal whether he succeeds in creating a refuge where Force-sensitive individuals can hide from the Empire. During a discussion about this year’s games, Tim Gettys from Kinda Funny raised the question of a sequel, although it’s important to note that he doesn’t seem to be speaking from inside information but rather as a speculating fan.

“I was thinking about this earlier when I was trying to come up with a game that hasn’t been announced yet that could make the list. Then I thought about how well received the last one was. I think the Jedi Survivor sequel has a solid chance of being released this year. I don’t think it’s guaranteed, but I wonder where it would fall. Maybe Summer Game Fest, or before that. I can see that game being announced in May and released in September,” Gettys said.

Although this is just speculation, it’s worth noting that Gettys then timidly adds he’s heard things suggesting he may know something. However, this should be treated with caution. Nothing has been officially confirmed, but it would be a significant departure from modern development standards if the sequel were released within three years of the last game. However, only four years passed between Fallen Order and Survivor, so three years may not be as far-fetched as we thought.

Some players have pointed out, though, that the director of the previous games, Stig Asmussen, left Electronic Arts in 2023. Could this have impacted the development of the third game? If Star Wars Jedi 3 is announced this year, an announcement in the spring or summer is likely, with a release at the end of the year. But will Cal Kestis be brave enough to compete with Grand Theft Auto VI?
