TECH NEWS – It’s worth installing the latest version quickly because it fixes critical security bugs, and more security is always helpful.

Nvidia‘s latest GPU driver, v591.59, includes several security updates that current GPU users should pay attention to. According to the manufacturer’s latest security advisory, the update addresses nearly four high-severity vulnerabilities. Nvidia describes these security issues as affecting multiple operating systems and enabling attackers to compromise user devices. This could lead to code execution, privilege escalation, data tampering, denial of service, and disclosure of information.

Nvidia claims these issues affect the GeForce, RTX, Quadro, NVS, and Tesla product families, together accounting for most consumers. If you want to know which driver versions you need to install to fix these security flaws, we will summarize them for you. If you are on the R590 driver branch and are below version 591.59, update to this version. For the R580 group, update to 582.16 (the latest version for older graphics cards). For the R570 family, update to 573.96, and for the R535 family, update to 539.64.

To ensure that the security vulnerabilities listed by Nvidia do not affect your PC, it is strongly recommended that you upgrade to the above driver versions if possible. More importantly, as most of these risks are critical, they pose a significant threat. In another security update (v582.28), Nvidia fixed bugs in older GeForce GPUs from the Maxwell, Pascal, and Volta series. This includes the GeForce GTX 900 and GeForce GTX 1000 series, as well as the Quadro M and P series. These are GPUs designed for desktop PCs.

Security updates are never a bad thing. If the update doesn’t cause performance degradation, spend five minutes downloading the approximately 600 MB update and installing it. In the meantime, take a coffee break.
