Google Pixel 10a: The Budget Smartphone Is Coming Soon with Few Changes [VIDEO]

TECH NEWS – Google’s new device does not show any significant improvements over the previous model.

After weeks of tech news rumors about whether the Pixel 10a would launch in February, March, or April, Google released official previews of its new, affordable smartphone and announced the device’s February 18 release date. It is not expected to be available in stores until March 5. Recently, Evan Blass, a well-known insider, posted a screenshot of the Pixel 10a‘s certification for operation on the Verizon network. The image revealed some technical details about the upcoming affordable model, including a 6.285-inch (15.96-centimeter) FHD+ AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of up to 120 hertz, 8 gigabytes of RAM, 128 gigabytes of storage, and a 5,100-milliamperes-hour battery.

Previous leaks have revealed the Pixel 10a‘s other specifications: it measures 153.9 x 72.9 x 9 mm, has a Tensor G4 SoC (system-on-chip) – the same one used in the Pixel 9a, albeit with a higher clock speed – and has a recommended retail price of around $500. It will be available in Obsidian (dark gray), Fog (beige), Lavender (light purple), and Berry (red). These specifications are nearly identical to those of the Pixel 9a, resembling the design language of its cost-effective, previous-generation sibling. The Pixel 10a has a thick frame and plastic back; the camera array on the back contains a dual camera; the volume button is located below the power button; the antenna lines are visible on the sides; and the speaker and microphone are located symmetrically at the bottom.

The Google Pixel 9a will likely become cheaper immediately upon the release of the Pixel 10a, which could result in a significant increase in demand for the older model. On a positive note, Google is expected to stick with the Pixel‘s strong selling points, including seven years of software support. However, that may be the only reason to consider this device.
