MOVIE NEWS – We’ve got Atreus. Amazon’s God of War series has finally revealed the actor who will stand beside Kratos. Callum Vinson (Dead Ringers, The Night Agent, Crystal Lake) joins the cast as the son of the Ghost of Sparta.
It is now official that young actor Callum Vinson will appear in Amazon’s God of War series in the role of Atreus. Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, the companies backing the project, have stepped up production and already confirmed several performers who will portray the gods seen in God of War (2018) and God of War: Ragnarok. After weeks of speculation, we finally know who will play Kratos’ son.
The news was first reported by Variety, which states that Vinson has secured one of the most important parts in the production. Born in 2014, the actor does not yet have as extensive a career as some of his co-stars. Even so, he has already built a presence in the industry, working on the Chucky television series and Dead Ringers. He is also set to appear in upcoming projects such as the third season of The Night Agent and Crystal Lake, the Friday the 13th prequel.
This role represents a major challenge for Vinson. Atreus is a well-established character in gaming and one of the central figures in the last two God of War installments. As a result, the actor will need to work closely with Ryan Hurst, who has been confirmed as Kratos in the production, to create a partnership that works on set. After all, the series will follow Kratos and Atreus on their journey to scatter Faye’s ashes in Jotunheim.
More Actors Confirmed for the God of War Series
Kratos and Atreus are not the only roles already confirmed for the God of War adaptation. Much of the Norse pantheon has been revealed, including Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, and Max Parker as Heimdall. Producers have also announced that Danny Woodburn will portray Brok and that Jeff Gulka has been cast as Sindri. More details about the start of filming and the first images of these actors in character as the mythical figures they will portray are expected in due course.
