MOVIE NEWS – In his wildest dreams, Jafaar Jackson never imagined he would become an actor – let alone portray his own uncle, Michael Jackson, on screen, the 29-year-old says about his first feature-film role.
“I had to grow into the job and prove to the filmmakers that I was capable of portraying Michael”, Jackson says in his latest interview promoting the film Michael. Jafaar is one of the seven children of the King of Pop’s brother, Jermaine Jackson.
“The reception was incredibly inspiring – you could feel the unconditional love the actors and crew had for Michael, and that’s why everyone poured their heart and soul into the work”, the young actor added.
Michael charts the superstar’s rise, focusing on the development process paved with countless pitfalls – the journey that took the King of Pop from being the prodigy of the family group The Jackson Five to becoming the artist who shaped the face of global pop music.
