Recently, a reliable source close to the Resident Evil franchise revealed a lot of information on Twitter.
Resident Evil: Requiem has finally arrived and has been a huge success. However, many players are already looking ahead to next year. If the rumors are true, the DLC will focus on Leon. At least, that’s what the reliable Resident Evil informant Dusk Golem claims on Twitter. He also provided some insight into the DLC’s content. According to the leaker, the long-rumored Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake will be the next game in the series, arriving sometime next year. It will be followed by the Resident Evil 0 remake, which has already been announced and is currently scheduled for release in 2028. After that, we can probably expect the next main installment in the series: Resident Evil 10. It will arrive sometime after the RE0 remake and will be followed by the first Resident Evil remake. According to Dusk Golem, it has recently entered development.
It won’t be after Zero Remake, where Zero Remake started dev 3-4 years ago, RE:1 is just recently entering development, so it’s likely anywhere from 4-7 years out from releasing, presuming it comes out at all since it’s in early development & RE games get scrapped all the time.

(1/5) A lot of people have asked about it, & I have a tiny little bit to say (not a lot, but a bit). So let’s talk about Resident Evil Requiem DLC.
I’m fully aware there’s RE9 DLC that’s late in development, though I think that’s hardly surprising. I think since RE5 every RE game— AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem (@AestheticGamer1) March 3, 2026
“Many people have asked about it, and I have a little information to share. So let’s talk about the Resident Evil Requiem DLC. I’m fully aware there’s DLC late in development, though I think that’s hardly surprising. Since Resident Evil 5, every RE game except Resident Evil 3 Remake has had some form of DLC. Resident Evil 6 and RE3R were supposed to get small story DLCs, but they were canceled due to their reception. Resident Evil 6‘s DLC was about Claire responding to Tall Oaks with TerraSave, which ultimately turned into Resident Evil Revelations 2. The DLC for Resident Evil 3 Remake was about Nikolai.
Anyway, the DLC for Resident Evil Requiem was originally conceived to space out the releases of RE9, the upcoming Code Veronica remake, and the RE0 remake, which was scheduled for release in 2025. However, the release was delayed, so the DLC will likely be released much sooner, especially since the Code Veronica remake is expected to be announced this year. I previously mentioned Alyssa because I heard they have a fully playable version of her that is likely not playable in the main game, but rather for some DLC. I don’t have any more context than that. However, I’ve recently heard a few times through the grapevine that there’s likely a Leon DLC.
I don’t know much about the scope of RE9‘s DLC, but I can make some educated guesses. Nakanishi said there would be content to keep people playing Resident Evil Requiem long after completing the main story. Most RE Engine games have had post-launch bonus modes added to them. That seems likely. If a story DLC focuses on Leon, it could also explain why I know Alyssa is playable, as it could have been made for a DLC bonus mode.
I know of some content that was cut from the final game, including some that was evidently cut really late in development and was related to Leon. There are also some developer comments from interviews that aren’t present in the final game. I suspect some of this content was repurposed during development. Regarding the release timing, I don’t know Capcom‘s plans. However, I’m suspicious of the Resident Evil Requiem Amiibos, which are set to release on July 30 of this year. They add weapon skins and other features. It feels like part of a larger DLC marketing push to me,” Dusk Golem wrote.
Let’s see what comes of this.
