It makes sense to wrap both live shows into one story, because there will be two separate broadcasts worth watching on April 23.
Microsoft has officially announced an ID@Xbox Showcase in partnership with IGN, which means the rumor turned out to be true. The stream will begin on April 23 at 7 PM Hungarian time. It will be available on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and on IGN’s own website, although unfortunately there is still no embed available for direct use. Four games have already been confirmed for the show: Mistfall Hunter, There Are No Ghosts at the Grand, Aphelion, and Solo Leveling: Arise Overdrive.
After last week’s rumors suggested that the game would finally receive a full reveal, followed by fresh speculation pointing to this week, Ubisoft has now confirmed that the complete reveal of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will indeed take place on April 23. In its teaser, the French publisher openly admitted that this remake has been one of the worst-kept secrets in gaming for quite some time, and that is hard to dispute. The presentation will begin at 6 PM Hungarian time and should finally answer several questions players have been asking for months. Ideally, it will also confirm the release date, which is currently rumored to be July 9.
It should also give us a much clearer sense of what exactly has changed in this remake. Are the modern-day missions really being removed, as rumored? Will this new version restore previously cut material from the original game? And what has actually changed visually or mechanically to make players excited about returning to Edward Kenway’s pirate adventure? Better frame rates and higher resolution are not enough on their own if Ubisoft expects people to spend real money on this project. That is why it will be especially interesting to see what the subtitle Resynced actually means here. Years ago, Yves Guillemot promised that Assassin’s Creed remakes were on the way.
The real question is whether Resynced means a remake in the full sense of the word – something closer to Resident Evil 2 Remake, which did not merely overhaul the visuals but also introduced genuinely new gameplay systems – or whether this is more of a remaster with mostly visual and technical upgrades. There is a lot riding on Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, because the way Ubisoft handles it could easily set the tone for what we should expect from the company in the future.
So yes, there will be plenty to watch on April 23, and plenty to report the following day.
