[SGF 2026] Crossfire: Former Sony Veterans Take on a Well-Known Franchise [VIDEO]

We never would have guessed That’s No Moon and Team K1 would be working on a game like this, but surprises are always in store.

Layla, a mercenary, is on a reconnaissance mission in the Atlas Mountains that quickly turns into a harrowing ordeal she cannot overcome alone. Cross is an opposing operator: trained, lethal, and the last person Layla would choose to trust. But trust isn’t the point. Making it out alive is. Fighting for survival and their humanity, their fraught alliance is the only chance they have of overcoming the existential threat ahead.

Experience the journey of Layla and Cross, two opposing operators fighting for survival and their humanity in a temporary but fraught alliance. Survey your surroundings and dynamically maintain cover with Adaptive Cover, a transformative new cover system. Stealth, engage, reposition, and flank. Together with Cross, use the terrain to outthink, outmaneuver, and overcome your enemies. With Adaptive Cover, the harsh terrain becomes another weapon in your arsenal. At any moment, a single bullet could be lethal. Mastering and refining your tactical approach is key to survival. Experience the harsh yet beautiful Atlas Mountains with a genre-defining traversal system. Use the world around you to endure the threats ahead.

We should clarify why we referred to them as former Sony veterans. Behind That’s No Moon are former employees of Infinity Ward, Naughty Dog, and Sony. The studio was founded nearly five years ago with $100 million in funding from Smilegate. Their first game, Crossfire, is based on the Crossfire IP and will be a story-driven, single-player action-adventure game.

It is in development for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, but a release date has not yet been announced. 2026 is definitely out of the question, but 2027 is a realistic release window.
