[SGF 2026] Mortal Shell II: Try the Prologue on PC! [VIDEO]

Cold Symmetry and Playstack’s Souls-like game is available to try on PC. All you have to do is visit the Steam store.

The open beta of Mortal Shell II provides access to the prologue and an early section of the open world. Your journey as the Harbinger begins now. We must claim our first Shells, discover our disciples, and recover the lost Ova for our Mether. Along the way, we’ll face many challenges, including dungeons, mini-bosses, and one truly formidable foe.

Only the minimum system requirements are listed on Steam.

Operating system: Windows 10/11 (version number not specified)
Processor: Intel Core i7-10700K/AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super/AMD Radeon RX 6600
DirectX: DX12
Storage: 30 GB, SSD required

Mortal Shell II, a standalone sequel, significantly expands on the original with unrestricted, adrenaline-charged combat, deeper weapon design with extensive upgrade options, and an emphasis on free exploration. This action RPG offers an immersive, interconnected open world that is expansive yet deliberately compact. It is designed to reveal its twisted landscapes and hidden structures while respecting the player’s time.

Dormant forms of forgotten warriors are scattered throughout the shattered world of Mortal Shell II. Once discovered, each Shell can be awakened and possessed, unlocking its innate strengths and unique abilities. Players can evolve their combat style by harnessing the diverse abilities of each Shell and uncovering their secrets by discovering lost memories.

Mortal Shell II‘s compact open world is connected by winding footpaths guarded by desperate and fanatical beings. Those who wander are rewarded with new story elements, Shells, powerful and strange weaponry, upgrades, curiosities, and more. Step through derelict temples of ancient deities, across forbidden forests, and into icy graves and citadels carved from bone. Scattered among these lost landmarks are over 60 dungeons, each of which provides a formidable challenge to your talents and weaponry.

Mortal Shell II is set to release sometime this year for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
