Mojang Studios is bringing its game to yet another platform, and at this point it feels as if even a toaster may eventually get a port.

Vibrant Visuals is the biggest graphics update Minecraft has ever received, and it will be enabled as the default graphical setting in the native Switch 2 version. Launching in June 2025 alongside the Chase the Skies update, Vibrant Visuals completely transforms the way players experience Minecraft with enhanced visual elements such as directional lighting, volumetric fog, and much more. The result is impressive: shadows move as the sun arcs across the sky, sunlight reflects on water, light plays along lakebeds, and clouds appear endless as they stretch far into the distance.

To celebrate the launch of the native Nintendo Switch 2 version of Minecraft, the popular Super Mario Mash-Up pack will also be updated with enhanced Vibrant Visuals graphics. The Super Mario Mash-Up pack is available exclusively in Nintendo versions of Minecraft, bringing Mario’s world into Minecraft with themed textures, music, and skins, as well as iconic locations to explore, all inspired by the Super Mario Bros. series. Dive into Peach’s Castle, explore Delfino Plaza, and experience firsthand how this exciting world comes to life in a new way with the addition of Vibrant Visuals.

Minecraft really has appeared on many platforms: PC/Mac/Linux (2009 – public alpha, 2011 – version 1.0), Android (2011 – public alpha, 2016 – version 1.0), iOS (2011 – public alpha, 2016 – version 1.0), Xbox 360 (2012), Raspberry Pi (2013), PlayStation 3 (2013), Fire OS (2014 – public alpha, 2016 – version 1.0), PlayStation 4 (2014), Xbox One (2014), PlayStation Vita (2014), Windows Phone (2014 – public alpha, 2016 – version 1.0), Windows 10 (2015 – public alpha, 2016 – version 1.0), Wii U (2015), Nintendo Switch (2017), New Nintendo 3DS (2017), ChromeOS (2023), PlayStation 5 (2024), Xbox Series (2025).

And Nintendo Switch 2 will receive its native port sometime this year.
